Getting Started

Do I need to be in shape to start?

Absolutely not. That's like saying you need to be clean before you take a shower. You start where you are — whether that's completely sedentary, recovering from an injury, or just feeling out of shape. That's exactly what I'm here for. Every program is built around YOUR starting point, not some imaginary fitness standard.

What should I expect at my first session?

We'll start with a conversation — your goals, your history, any aches or limitations you're dealing with. Then we'll move through some basic movements so I can see how you move. No testing, no scores, no judgment. Just an honest look at where you are so I can build the right plan. You'll leave knowing exactly what we're working toward.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in — athletic shoes, shorts or leggings, a t-shirt. Bring a water bottle. That's it. No special equipment needed. I provide everything else.

How it works

Training

How often should I train?

For most people, 2-3 sessions per week hits the sweet spot — enough to build real strength and see consistent progress, with enough recovery time built in. Some clients train with me twice a week and do a third session on their own with a program I write for them. We'll figure out what fits your life.

What kind of exercises will I do?

Functional, full-body movements — squats, deadlifts, presses, carries, crawls, kettlebell work, bodyweight training, and mobility drills. The specifics depend on your body and your goals. I don't do gimmicks. Every exercise has a purpose, and I'll explain why we're doing it.

Do you work with injuries or physical limitations?

Yes — this is actually a specialty of mine. I spent years training alongside physical therapists in New York City, and that experience shapes everything I do. If you're dealing with back pain, a bad knee, a shoulder issue, or anything else, we work around it and build you up. I'll also coordinate with your PT or doctor if needed.

What's the difference between personal training and online coaching?

Personal training is in-person, one-on-one sessions here in Louisville. I'm right there coaching form, adjusting weights, and keeping you on track in real time. Online coaching gives you a custom program, video check-ins, and ongoing support through an app — you do the workouts on your own schedule, wherever you are. Both get results. It comes down to your preference and logistics.

What we offer

Programs

What is the Getting Going Kickstart?

It's a 14-day jumpstart program designed to get you moving, build a baseline of strength and mobility, and give you a real feel for what training with me is like. You get a movement assessment, 3 personal training sessions, a custom starter plan, a daily warm-up protocol, a nutrition quick-start guide, and a 30-day follow-up check-in. It's the best way to start if you're new to training or coming back after a long break.

Is the $99 Kickstart worth it?

I built this program specifically so there's no barrier to getting started. For $99, you get a real training experience — not a watered-down trial. You'll learn proper form, start building habits, and have a clear picture of where you stand and where you can go. Most Kickstart clients continue into ongoing training because they feel the difference in just 14 days.

Do you offer group training?

Currently, all training is one-on-one or online coaching. This is intentional — I believe personalized attention gets better results, especially for people focused on longevity and moving well long-term. That said, I do run the occasional small-group workshop or challenge. Follow me on Instagram to stay in the loop.

The details

Logistics

Where are you located?

I train clients in Louisville, Kentucky. For in-person sessions, I'll share the specific training location when we set up your first session. Online coaching is available nationwide — all you need is a phone and some basic equipment.

What are your hours?

I train clients Monday through Friday, with session times ranging from early morning to early evening. Specific availability depends on current client load. The best way to find an open slot is to reach out and we'll work something out.

How much does personal training cost?

Pricing depends on the package — how many sessions per week and the length of commitment. I'm transparent about pricing during our initial conversation. The Getting Going Kickstart is $99 for 14 days, which is the easiest way to get started without a big financial commitment upfront.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. I offer a free discovery call where we talk about your goals, your history, and whether we'd be a good fit. No obligation, no hard sell. Just a conversation. You can book one through the contact page.

What's your cancellation policy?

Life happens — I get it. I ask for 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice count as a used session. No-shows are the same. It's a respect-each-other's-time policy, and it works both ways.

Still Have Questions?

No question is too basic. Reach out and let's talk.
